Made of 100% Toquilla Straw that is woven by hand in two tones; Half is carefully handwoven in the natural Panama straw color; the other half is woven with individually dyed black straw using a rich charcoal natural dye to create a rich onyx hue. Once the hat is woven and dyed, the crown is then hand-shaped by an artisan with a traditional pinched front design. Final touches are added in the USA by a woman milliner.

What can you expect? A great quality, sturdy, and timeless hat made of finely handwoven toquilla straw imported from Ecuador. As with any handwoven product, no two are alike. All hats are made in the same hue with different weaving patterns. Naturally, color lines and weaving patterns may vary.
Dimensions: 13cm tall crown and 9.5cm standard brim.
Brim Style: Stiff modern brim (not floppy).
Materials: Made of 100% Genuine Toquilla Straw, imported in small batches.
Origin: Toquilla Straw Handwoven by fifth-generation artisans in Ecuador.
Artisans: Hand-dyed and hand-shaped by artisans in Mexico. Finishing touches added in the USA by a woman milliner.
UPF Rating: 70+ Superior fine weave blocks out the sun's harmful UV rays.
Band: Comes with a layered natural Jute thin rope that is removable. The interior band is a 1.5" thick vegan leather band for all-day comfort and easy insizing by adding hat tape or insizers as desired.
Sizes: Handmade hats size & may fit differently than factory-made hats that are made one-size-fits-all. Our standard sizes are M and L which are true to size. If you're in between sizes, a filler can be added to 'Perfect the Fit'. Size small is a customized size that is insized to 55-56cm. The crown of this hat has depth and is taller than most hats.
